Server and WordPress Help

Stuck on a server or WordPress problem and would rather have it fixed than read another tutorial? Liberian Geek takes on a small number of hands-on jobs. Tell us what is wrong, and we reply with a fixed quote before any work starts.

What we can help with

  • VPS setup and hardening. A new Debian or Ubuntu server set up with a non-root user, SSH keys, a firewall, automatic security updates and a web stack ready for your site.
  • WordPress migration. Your site moved to a new server or host, with DNS and SSL switched over and the old site kept until you confirm the new one works.
  • Hacked WordPress cleanup. Malicious files and database injections removed, the entry point identified where possible, and passwords, keys and plugins brought up to date.
  • WordPress speed fix. Caching, image handling, PHP and database settings checked and corrected, with before and after measurements.
  • Cloudflare and DNS setup. DNS records, proxy settings, SSL mode, caching and firewall rules configured for your site.

How it works

  1. Email [email protected] with your site or server details and what is going wrong.
  2. We ask any questions we need, then send a fixed quote and a time estimate.
  3. If you accept, you give us temporary access, such as a separate admin user or an SSH key that you can remove afterwards.
  4. We do the work and show you what changed. You then remove the access.

What to include in your message

  • Your website address, or the server’s operating system and version
  • Your hosting company or VPS provider
  • What is happening, any error message, and when it started
  • Whether you have a recent backup

Before you write

  • Never send passwords by email. We agree a safe way to share access after you accept a quote.
  • Make a backup first if you can. If you cannot, tell us, and we take one before changing anything.
  • You pay nothing until you accept a quote. Asking is free.
